The blue tortie alternates blue and cream bands with cream and beige ones. The hairs on the soles, the muzzle and the paw pads have mixed colors with the one from the base, red or cream. PHOTO / Silver : The pattern is the same as the ruddy but with a lighter color between the bands of the color of the base and replaced by the most silver shades. Example of the ruddy: alternating silver and black bands, the root of the hair is silver and the end black. The make up, thumbprints on the ears and the end of the tail are black. The throat path, tummy and the interior of the legs are covered with no ticking hair (no pointy look), silver and without a necklace trace on the neck nor bracelet on the legs. The variation in the pigmentation is called “rufism”, it appears on the reddish overtones, and this even though it’s not desired it shouldn’t be strongly penalized, especially when it’s located along the spine. The color of the hair on the soles, muzzle and paw pads should meet the standards of the same color of the base. The silver shade, feature of the silver, brings in two more contrasts a lot stronger than the bands we usually see in the non silver ones.
